Population aging has profound implications for many facets of human life, of economic and social development. One of them is health and health care. This article focuses on health status profile and health services consumption of the older people in Romania. The estimates show that health care needs and health services consumption of an older person are higher than those of any other person from younger age group. The study refers also about some implication of aging on health care system and health care policy.
