The basic question I will try to explore is whether the present financial crisis has changed the assessment of the effects of euro adoption by the new member countries (NMC) which are still outside EMU. In order to do that I will overview the estimates of the entry into the euro zone which were prepared before the crisis and then ask in what ways the crisis would change them.
