The present study attempts a modest exposition of the teaching of Eastern Orthodox Christianity on labour and to highlight landmarks that may, on the one hand, shed light on the way to a more profound understanding of the consequences of the current deep metamorphosis of labour, and, on the other hand, to offer clues on the developing position of Christians to these dynamics.

Income and wealth disparity is one of the defining problems of our time. In sophisticated economies, the wealth gap between the rich and the poor is at an all-time high. Inequality developments in emerging markets and developing nations have varied, with some countries experiencing declining inequality while others continue with entrenched disparities in access to education, health care, and finance.

Within an economy, entrepreneurship is a ubiquitous aspect of human action. Productive, unproductive or destructive entrepreneurship can be stimulated based on the perceived or expected rewards, and according to the rules of the game. This paper presents an analysis of how institutions increase entrepreneurial performance and create an advantageous environment for the well-being of society.

Unequal competition is felt between modern and traditional retailers, between Romanian and imported products, and between processed and unprocessed foods, especially since over 80% Romanians purchase their groceries in the modern retail stores. To help small farmers, and even small traditional retailers, this research identifies several customer segments and their characteristics.

The Covid-19 pandemic has generated significant humanitarian, political and economic turmoil since its onset in early 2020. The crisis has since spread throughout the entire world with an overwhelmingly negative impact. At the European Union level, both the initial reaction and the uneven economic outcome across member states pointed to an underlying lack of political and economic cohesion.

This paper’s aim is to analyse the new foreign policy focus of the British Government in a post-Brexit world. While the new approach, presented in the Parliament in 2021, known as “Global Britain in a competitive age”, may seem somewhat distant to the globalized world of the 21st century and more appealing to the imperialist past of the island nation, the truth can be far from that.

Erudition and research stand to gain from the publishing of this outstanding two-volume study. Sailing against the winds, three scholars from Iaşi set out to write not just a mere scientific paper – to keep up with the times – but a book. And it turned out to be an excellent book, meeting the quality standards that a reputable publishing house like Palgrave requires.
