The paper delivers some reflections on the concept of singular economic event, starting from the concept of economic as well as from the distinction between the natural world and the economic (larger, social) world in an ontological perspective. In this context, the paper shows we never meet economic phenomenon, but only its historical hypostases: economic events. Through a logical demonstration the main conclusion of the paper is, really, there are not but only singular economic events. Based on such a conclusion some considerations about explanation, prediction, and testing related to the singular economic event are made and argued. Finally, o short examination on the type of probabilities involved in the prediction of the singular economic event is given.
