This paper explores the dynamic interplay between geotechnology – considered the third pillar of the geo-trinity alongside traditional geopolitics and geoeconomics –, the technological advancements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and global economic systems, highlighting their implications for economic policies, national security and international cooperation. The analysis focuses on the transformative role of emerging technologies in reshaping international power dynamics, particularly through the erosion of the Westphalian system as non-state actors gain prominence in the context of Industry 4.0. By integrating insights from geopolitics and international relations, the study examines technological competition among major global powers in the “A.I. Race” while also addressing opportunities for cooperation as the democratization of global governance progresses.
