The literature devoted to economic development concerns itself in a growing de-gree with the role and importance of institutions. The main function of institu-tions is to shape the expectations of entrepreneurs so as to improve the coordina-tion of their interactions. Because expectations are inherently subjective, reaching the expected goal is essentially dependent on credibility. The­re are no standard recipes for covering credibility gaps. Devising strategies for the reinforcement of credibility requires the identification of problems, which trigger different re¬sponses, with a broad range of ways and means, of very eclectic composition.­
